FMI Retools Message: Sarasin

ORLANDO, Fla. — FMI is retooling its message with a new logo and soon-to-be relaunched website, said Leslie Sarasin, president and chief executive officer, during remarks at the association’s Midwinter Executive Conference here.

The new logo features the tag line: “The Voice of Food Retail.”

“FMI will be your voice and share your message,” Sarasin said.

She underscored the strong bond between food retailers and consumers and said that FMI will passionately communicate the story of food retailers. Part of that story is the importance of family meals, she added.

“Family meals are crucial to America’s social health,” she said. “It all starts in your stores.”

The new logo includes a scannable bar code that takes users with smartphones to the FMI website.

That website, meanwhile, will be relaunched with a more user-friendly design and improved search function, she added. It will integrate social media efforts and facilitate improved member communications. The relaunch will take place in time for FMI 2012, the education and exhibit event at the Dallas Convention Center April 30 to May 3.
