NGA Announces New Board Members

LAS VEGAS — The National Grocers Association here announced Sunday it has elected 13 new members to its board of directors.

Among retailers, the new members are R.F. Buche, president, GF Buche Co., Wagner, S.D.; Eric Geyer, president and chief executive officer, Geyer's Markets, Mansfield, Ohio; Nolan Lockwood, president and chief operating officer, Walla Walla's Harvest Foods, Walla Walla, Wash.; Alan Nidiffer, executive vice president, C&K Market, Brookings, Ore.; Eric Stille, president, Nugget Market, Woodland, Calif.; and Bill White, owner, Belle Foods, Birmingham, Ala.

The four newly elected wholesaler members are Ted Adornato, executive vice president, wholesale operations, Spartan Stores, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Martin Arter, president and CEO, Affiliated Foods Midwest, Norfolk, Neb.; Michael Bozzuto, chairman, president and CEO, Bozzuto's, Cheshire, Conn.; and David Mitchell, president, Mitchell Grocery Corp., Albertville, Ala.  Kevin Elliott, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Nash Finch Co., Minneapolis, was appointed to the board.

Other new board members include Dan Shaul, state director of the Missouri Grocers Association, and Brian Lernihan, vice president of industry and customer development, Unilever.

Six other directors were reelected:  retailwea Brad Brookshire, CEO, Brookshire Grocery Co., Tyler, Texas, and Barry Queen, CEO, Queen Enterprises, Paola, Kansas; wholesalers Jim Denges, president and CEO, Central Grocers, Joliet, Il.; Bob Ling, president, Unified Grocers, Los Angeles; and Cal Miller, CEO, Associated Grocers of Florida, Pompano Beach, Fla.; plus Lisa Walsh, vice president, customer management, PepsiCo.
