MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu here said Monday it has named Julie Dexter Berg executive vice president and chief marketing officer, effective March 15.
Julie Dexter Berg
Berg most recently was managing partner at Brandmaking, a Bellevue, Wash.-based brand and customer-strategy consulting firm. Before forming Brandmaking in 2004, Berg was executive vice president and chief marketing officer at MediaOne in Englewood, Colo., and before that had CPG marketing and brand management experience at Carnation Co. and Nestlé Foods.
At Supervalu she helps fill a void left by the departure last year of Duncan Mac Naughton, who had been EVP of merchandising and marketing. She reports to Craig Herkert, president and chief executive officer, Supervalu.
“Julie has a terrific blend of strong experience in both marketing and operations leadership,” said Herkert in a prepared statement. “She has developed and implemented brand and customer management strategies for multiple companies that were effective in building customer loyalty and driving sales."
