ARLINGTON, Va. — The Food Marketing Institute said it will introduce a dedicated exhibitor area called the Sustainability Solutions Center at the FMI 2012 Convention, April 30-May 3, in Dallas.

“The goal of the solutions center is to provide the convention attendees (supermarket executives from around the world) with a one-stop center for key connections, tools and knowledge that is most needed to move their companies forward faster with different aspects of environmental and social sustainability,” said Jeanne von Zastrow, senior director of sustainability and industry relations, FMI, in an email sent Monday.

FMI is hosting a webinar to discuss the makeup of the Sustainability Solutions Center on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. ET. Among the potential “learning pods” in the center are waste, energy, packaging, sustainable seafood, sustainable agriculture and stakeholder partnerships.
