DALLAS -- Kimberly-Clark here teamed with Abco Foods, Phoenix on an account-specific promotion that linked the retailer's Blue Ribbon store-brand meats and the manufacturer's full-line of paper and personal products.

The tie-in also aimed to increase traffic in-store and generate consumer interest, according to a statement released by the retailer.

To participate, shoppers were instructed to fill out a mail-in entry form and send it to Abco. Winners in the "Blue Ribbon Meats Sweep-Steaks" promotion would win a grand prize of $1,000 in meat gift certificates, a 21 cubic foot upright freezer and a General Electric microwave.

The first prize offered one $500 meat certificate and the second prize offered two $95 meat certificates and two General Electric microwaves.

Abco also gave away 70 $95 meat certificates to regular prize winners.

Two store personnel in each of the chain's three districts competed to win $100 gift certificates in a contest for the best displays of Kimberly-Clark products.

The retailer supported the promo with an advertisement in its circular, featuring Kimberly-Clark's feminine hygiene and baby products, as well as its household paper products.

"This offer: is exclusive to Abco; requires no purchase; [and] rewards Abco customers for their patronage," said Abco's statement.
