sed operating Albertsons.com, its Fort Worth-based warehouse model, earlier this month, giving regular customers $50 gift certificates to shop at Albertson's stores.

In the Texas model, Albertson's was filling on-line orders for dry groceries only from a dedicated warehouse. The decision there will apparently have no effect on its Seattle dot-com model, in which on-line orders are filled at designated supermarket locations for customer pickup.

Texas consumers will reportedly still be able to access Savon.com, the chain's on-line drugstore service, which operates out of the Fort Worth location. Company officials reportedly said about 80% of grocery items that were available through Albertsons.com will continue to be available through Savon.com.
