UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- "Apollo 13," a $165 million box office hit, will be released to video Nov. 28 at a sell-through price of $22.98. During a press conference last week, MCA/Universal Home Video here detailed plans for the surprise, late fourth-quarter move. Part of its extensive marketing campaign will be a $5 mail-in rebate on Tropicana Pure Premium products that will be promoted in a national freestanding insert Dec. 3. Other advertising will include cable and spot TV, print media, posters on buses in major metropolitan areas and trailers on other MCA/Universal videos. A second tie-in partner is Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash. The retail availability date -- the first time the title can be displayed -- is Nov. 28. The national advertised availability date -- the first time retailers can promote that they have the product -- is Dec. 1. Order close date is Nov. 6. The minimum advertised price is $14.95.
