PHOENIX -- The Arizona Food Marketing Alliance here said Harold Gaubert, chief financial officer of Southwest Supermarkets here, has been elected chairman.
manager for Tosco Marketing Co. here, second vice chairman; Jim Nygren, director of labor relations and special projects for Fry's Food & Drug Stores here, third vice chairman; Darl Andersen, CFO of Bashas', Chandler, Ariz., treasurer; and Don Olsen, owner of Olsens Marketplace Stores, Yuma, Ariz., secretary.
Two new members were elected to the board of directors: Terry Carr, president of the Fleming division here, and Shane Dorcheus, director of operations for the Albertson's region here.
The AFMA also said it will honor three industry executives with its Excellence in Leadership Award at a ceremony Nov. 2. They are Eddie Basha, chairman and chief executive officer of Bashas', retailer of the year; Robert Lavinia, president of Tosco Marketing Co., convenience store operator of the year; and John Sorenson, director of regional accounts for the Phoenix division of Nabisco Biscuit Co., supplier of the year.
In addition, Jim Hensley, founder of Hensley & Co. here, distributors of Anheuser-Busch products, will be inducted into the Arizona Food Industry Hall of Fame.
