Dan Bagan, SN senior vice president, has been named senior vice president of Penton Media's food retail group, reporting to Darrell Denny, president of Penton's Lifestyle Media Group.
Penton is the parent company of SN following the recent merger of Penton and Prism Business Media.
Bagan will retain responsibility for SN, adding to this oversight of Restaurant Hospitality, Food Management, Convenience Store Decisions, Modern Baking and Baking Management. Reporting to Bagan will be Jess Grossberg, group publisher, RH and FM; Shahla Hebets, publisher, CSD; and Jerry Rymont, group publisher, MB and BM.
Bagan, an 18-year veteran of business-to-business publishing, joined SN in September 2001 and was named senior vice president in November 2006.
Prior to that, he was vice president, group publisher of Fairchild Retail Group, a division of Condé Nast Publications that included SN. He also spent 14 years at Lebhar-Friedman.
Under Bagan's oversight, SN has achieved record growth and has continued to hold a leadership position in the food retailing industry.
