SAN FRANCISCO -- This city's mass-transit agency has joined with Odwalla Inc., Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Stonyfield Farm, Londonderry, N.H., to launch a public-education and awareness campaign promoting the benefits of mass transportation. Every Monday morning during the next two months, company representatives are distributing free Stonyfield Farm yogurt and Odwalla juices as part of the "Healthy Rewards" promotion. Commuters using the Bay Area Rapid Transit system receive educational information on how taking public transportation helps the environment, including research from the American Public Transit Association, such as every person using mass transportation saves 78 pounds of pollutants from the atmosphere every year.
