The ad said, "Low fat, low salt healthy alternatives in our deli," and featured low-salt turkey breast for $3.99 a pound. Also touted were low-fat bologna, low-fat cooked salami and low- salt franks, all $2.99 a pound. Big Y's turkey chili, $2.99 a pound, "97% fat free, with no preservatives," also was spotlighted.
The ad included a graphic guide showing 10 different thicknesses to which meats and cheeses can be sliced to order, from paper thin to about an eighth of an inch thick. It was the first time the guide had been used in an ad and was provided for customers' convenience, Asselin said.
