"We added the pot pie because our research tells us pot pies are popular and sales of our chicken pot pie have been very good," he said. "The pot pie addition has nothing to do with offering a vegetarian item. It is just to give the customer another choice."
The company also has introduced Caesar salad and chicken Caesar salad and is looking into expanding its soup selections to build lunch business.
The spokesman said the menu expansion is not in response to competition from supermarket delis and other operators who have recently emphasised rotisserie chicken.
