ST. LOUIS -- Earthgrains Company here continued to work toward settling all outstanding disputes with striking workers, after reaching an agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters on a new five-year contract for 735 California transport employees. The manufacturer of packaged and artisan breads suspended talks with striking workers at 26 of its bakeries across the country while union officials review the company's newest proposal.
