TYLER, Texas -- Brookshire Grocery Co. has promoted Johnny Skelton to senior vice president - director of perishable operations. Prior to this, he was senior vice president - market/deli/bakery. In his new post, Skelton oversees all aspects of operations for market, deli and in-store bakery, in addition to produce, dairy and frozen merchandise in the company's 133 retail stores. Skelton joined Brookshire in 1966 as a meat cutter, and assumed positions of increasing responsibility over the years, attaining the senior vice president level in 1998. Brookshire Grocery, founded in 1928, operates stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as two distribution centers.
