digital processing labs to its traditional photo services in December 2002 and June 2003, and purchased self-service digital processors for each of its stores.

"It got to the point where so many customers were asking 'Can you make a CD?' and 'Do you do prints from digital cameras?' that we realized we were missing out on a lot of business or outsourcing the work to get it done," said Art Ingold, director of photo operations. Buehler's stores are spread out through central Ohio between Cleveland and Columbus.

"It's good for our photo business to be able to offer whatever the customer wants," he added.

Buehler's priced 4x6 prints at 29 cents each, with customized photos at higher price points. The chain also offers a wide range of enlargements and packages.

Buehler's rolled out two Noritsu QSS-3101 Digital Minilabs initially, and installed the manufacturer's Consumer Terminals in all its stores. The newest addition to the chain will be another minilab, QSS-3212, from Noritsu America Corp., Buena Park, Calif.
