IRVINE, Calif. -- Buyproduce, a technology solutions provider for the perishable foods industry, has appointed Kenneth R. Lally president and chief executive officer. Prior to this, Lally was executive vice president of worldwide sales and services at Epicor Software Corp., a provider of ERP software to mid-market companies. Lally will immediately assume the duties of interim CEO Dave Schaefer, who will resume his previous role as chief financial officer, officials said. The announcement follows the recent departure of several top executives, including Robert Verloop, vice president of marketing; Francisco Jardim, director of international sales; Mike Alliman, vice president of account development; and Karrie Kozar, public relations manager. Company officials said the cuts were the result of the operation's evolution from a category-specific, produce-related Web trading site to a provider of information technology.
