CAMPBELL TO HEAD PRODUCE FOUNDATION

MONTEREY, Calif. -- Ted Campbell, director of produce for Supervalu, Minneapolis, was elected president of the Produce for Better Health Foundation during its recent annual board meeting held here.

f the Washington State Apple Commission, was elected to the position of secretary/treasurer, which was vacated by Campbell upon his election to the top board slot.

The board of the Produce for Better Health Foundation, based in Newark, Del., meets annually to review its programs to promote the consumption of five servings of fruit and vegetables a day and to hold elections of officers and executive committee members.

The board is made up of 49 representatives from the produce industry and includes retailers, packers, growers, shippers, associations and commodity boards. The board voted in seven members to the executive committee. In addition to Campbell and Hale, the new members include: Jim Richter, director of produce, Marsh Supermarkets, Indianapolis; Ed Odron, vice president of produce marketing, Lucky Stores, San Leandro, Calif.; Mike Klackel, director of fresh sales, MBG Marketing/Michigan Blueberry Council, Grand Junction, Mich.; Dave Parker, assistant manager, California Tree Fruit Agreement, Sacramento, Calif.; and Pete Ballotta, president, The Tobi Company, Tampa, Fla.
