Supermarkets aren't the only outlets where consumers go to treat their pets. Drug stores' pet supply sales might not have reached the level of supermarkets, but they are creeping up. Dollar sales for pet supplies in the drug channel increased 2.37% for the most recent 52-week period to $53.6 million, but the channel still hasn't fully recovered from sales losses in 2003 when it dipped slightly from just over $55 million.
