While shaving lotion and men's fragrance increased, shaving cream was down. The shaving cream category represented $256 million in dollar sales for food, drug and mass combined in the 52-week period ended June 13, down 7.52% from the previous year.

The food channel had dollar sales of $124.7 million for that time frame, representing a decline of 8.83%. Prior to that, the category saw a decline of 10.72% in the 2003 calendar year, and a 0.17% decline in 2002.

The drug channel owns a smaller share of shaving cream sales than the food channel, but it also declined. Sales for the 52 weeks ended June 13 were $78.5 million, down 4.34% from the prior year. Sales for calendar year 2003 were off by 6.46%, and for 2002 were down 3.46%.
