MCLEAN, Va. -- Steven C. Anderson, president and chief executive officer of the American Frozen Food Institute here, is leaving AFFI after 20 years to lead the National Restaurant Association, effective Aug. 1.

AFFI works chiefly on public policy and industry issues, such as the current country-of-origin labeling for food product ingredients, which AFFI opposes.
AFFI's executive committee is working with the board of directors to choose a successor to Anderson.
"We have done a lot at AFFI in the last 20 years. I've worked with a wonderful group of people. I have tremendously mixed emotions about leaving, but I am sure that this association will continue to do great things," Anderson said.
