NEW YORK -- A Colgate-Palmolive executive was killed and another injured here when the company helicopter they were riding in plunged into the East River last week.

The helicopter lifted off from a Manhattan heliport at about 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday. It climbed about 35 feet in the air when its tail rotor broke off, witnesses said, sending it into the East River.
