Correction In the March 31 issue of SN, some inaccuracies appeared in the story on the growth of private-label and store brands. The story should have stated that in 1996, dollar volume in food stores grew 8.5% for store brands, while national brands grew 1.4%, together contributing to an overall growth of 2.4% in supermarket dollar volume. By market share, store brands increased to 20.1%, from 19.5% in the previous year.
