Independent Delivery Services Inc. (IDS), based in Windsor, Conn., is a nine-year-old company that provides software tools and consulting support to enable supermarket retailers to develop and build their home-shopping businesses, according to the IDS Web site. The company offers an integrated, order-to-distribution package. In an article last week discussing the companies that enable brick-and-mortar supermarket chains to go online, SN incorrectly reported that IDS is not a remaining company in that space. SN regrets the error. Another company that should have been mentioned as still operating in that space is HometownGrocers.com, which is based in Northfield, Minn.
