Yingling has been a member since last September of Crown's board, which he was asked to join "to give us fresh thinking from the retail side of the business," Arndt said in a letter announcing the changes to Crown customers. "Over the past 10 months he has added a whole new dimension to our company."
Yingling was president of Lucky's southern California division from 1986 to 1991, when he left to become chairman and CEO of Thrifty Corp., Los Angeles.
