DAVIDSON RETURNS TO H-E-B AS SENIOR VP

SAN ANTONIO -- H.E. Butt Grocery has announced that Roger Davidson has accepted the position of senior vice president of grocery merchandising, procurement and own brand, responsible for purchasing, relations with suppliers, store displays, space allocation, product selection and product development, as well as new product innovation and assortment. He returns to H-E-B after four years at Ahold USA,

SAN ANTONIO -- H.E. Butt Grocery has announced that Roger Davidson has accepted the position of senior vice president of grocery merchandising, procurement and own brand, responsible for purchasing, relations with suppliers, store displays, space allocation, product selection and product development, as well as new product innovation and assortment. He returns to H-E-B after four years at Ahold USA, Chantilly, Va., where he held the position of senior vice president of nonperishables, corporate brands and global sourcing. Prior to the move, Davidson was a 30-year veteran of H-E-B, and was director of grocery, own brand, and director of general merchandise and procurement when he departed in 1999. Davidson began his career with H-E-B in 1969 as a part-time bagger. He reports to Bob Loeffler, H-E-B's chief operating officer. H-E-B operates more than 300 stores throughout Texas and Mexico.
