PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- Retailers and exhibitors lounged poolside at an opening-day reception at the Food Marketing Institute's 16th Annual Supermarket Pharmacy Conference here last month. The arid desert air didn't stop attendees from talking about the big issues in retail pharmacy, like the HIPAA (Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliance enforcement date that passed during the conference.
