PHOENIX -- Dial Corp. here has chosen the Chep USA pallet pooling system and Chep 4-Way block pallet to support its latest logistics initiative.

r a Best Price option that reflects logistical savings.

A full truckload consists of 28 Chep 4-way pallets, six more than can be accommodated using standard pallets. The cost savings are available to retail customers nationwide who order from Dial's distribution centers in Allentown, Pa., or St. Louis. "Dial and Chep are working together for the benefit of our customers by providing a system that saves them time on the loading dock and improved efficiencies throughout the trade channels," said Dan King, senior vice president of customer service at Dial.

The program, which began April 1, has so far been well received by Dial's distributors.

Gary Snyder, director of inventory management at Fleming Cos., Oklahoma City, called Dial's initiative "an important step forward in the effort to improve supply chain efficiencies."
