ST. LOUIS -- Employees of The Earthgrains Company here ratified a new three-year labor contract and put an end to the strike that has crippled its Fort Payne, Ind. bakery and more than two dozen other facilities in the southeastern U.S. since August 26, 2000. The employees, members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, will receive an average annual wage-and-benefit

ST. LOUIS -- Employees of The Earthgrains Company here ratified a new three-year labor contract and put an end to the strike that has crippled its Fort Payne, Ind. bakery and more than two dozen other facilities in the southeastern U.S. since August 26, 2000. The employees, members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, will receive an average annual wage-and-benefit increase of 3.9% over the three years, including an added paid hoilday and increased pension, said officials of the packaged and artisan bread company.
