WASHINGTON -- The ECR Executive Committee has named Richard E. Goodspeed co-chairman, effective in January.
resigned both from the committee and Scrivner in mid-July following the buyout of Scrivner by Fleming Cos. Both Fleming and Scrivner are based in Oklahoma City. Metcalf had been Scrivner's chairman and chief executive officer.
Richard Mayer, chairman and CEO of Kraft General Foods, Northfield, Ill., will continue as the other committee co-chairman.
Goodspeed has been president and chief operating officer of Vons since April. Prior to that, he was executive vice president with American Stores Co., Salt Lake City, and president and chief operating officer of Lucky Stores, Dublin, Calif. The ECR Executive Committee guides the industry's development and implementation of ECR. Thirty-two current executives of companies from all segments of the grocery industry are on the committee.
