EFR LEADER NAMED

WASHINGTON -- Mark Allen, currently the director of industry affairs for the Grocery Manufacturers of America, here, has been appointed executive director of the Efficient Foodservice Response initiative.Manufacturers Association, Chicago; and others. WASHINGTON -- Mark Allen, currently the director of industry affairs for the Grocery Manufacturers of America, here, has been appointed executive director of the Efficient Foodservice Response initiative.

Manufacturers Association, Chicago; and others. The initiative is aimed at helping food-service manufactures, brokers, distributors and operators to eliminate $14.3 billion in non-value-added costs from the supply channel.

Heading the EFR project, Allen replaces the first executive director of the task force, Perry Fri, who resigned in July to become the vice president of industry alliances for Instill, Palo Alto, Calif.
