RYE, N.Y. -- Top retail executives from throughout the state mingled at the Food Industry Alliance of New York State's annual leadership banquet here late last month. Stan Sorkin, chairman of the association and director of advertising for Krasdale Foods, White Plains, N.Y., told attendees that supermarket operators in the state are under increasing pressure from nontraditional formats, including restaurants. Jane Hanson, a longtime news anchor with WNBC in New York, gave the keynote address.
