SAN FRANCISCO — While some watched the Oscars, SN held its own second annual Technology Excellence Awards dinner and ceremony at the Farallon restaurant here on Feb. 29. At the event, sponsored by Lawson Software, SN presented awards for technology excellence and leadership to Shaw's Supermarkets (chain category), Unified Western Grocers (wholesaler), Dorothy Lane Markets (independent), Peapod (online sales) and Metro Group (International). The event coincided with the Food Marketing Institute's Marketechnics show, which up to four executives from each winner can attend free of charge next year.
