Star Market Taps Produce Director
Co. here has named Ray England director of produce merchandising, a new position.
England was previously director of produce operations for Tom Thumb Food and Drug, Dallas, which is owned by Randalls Food Markets, Houston. At Star, England now reports to Neil Kelly, vice president of perishables.
Star Market operates 34 units in Massachusetts.
Officials at Randalls said that as part of a corporate consolidation, England's former duties at Tom Thumb have been merged into the Randalls corporate office.
Norm Frewin, senior vice president and director of produce for Randall's, will oversee produce operations for Tom Thumb's divisions in Houston, Dallas and Austin, Texas.
