WLR Foods Names Director
Foods here has named Gerald Edward "Jerry" Lenz director of research and development at its poultry subsidiary, Wampler-Longacre, also located here.
Lenz' major responsibility will be to develop further-processed poultry products -- in particular, fully-cooked, prepared entrees to add to the company's Chef's Quality fresh entree line, said a WLR spokeswoman.
Lenz had been with Pilgrim's Pride, a Mount Pleasant, Texas-based poultry processor, since 1991. Most recently, he was vice president of research and development there.
In his new post, he reports to Robert Salegna, director of marketing, research and development at Wampler-Longacre.
