Top-Level Changes at NYAA Debated
Apple Association has announced the resignation of Michael Durando, the organization's president for more than 6 years; he will pursue other opportunities, possibly related to agriculture and the apple industry.
The appointment of a successor is expected to be discussed at the group's summer meeting in this month, said Jim Verbridge, chairman of the board.
Additionally, the NYAA's board of directors voted at a recent meeting not to renew its yearly contract with marketing firm Franklin Associates, Trevilians, Va.
According to published reports, both the president's and the marketing responsibilities, held by Durando and Franklin Associates, respectively, will be handled in-house by NYAA personnel until matters pertaining to the restructuring are resolved.
