Stop & Shop Names ECR Vice President

. here has named Gerald Friedler vice president of Efficient Consumer Response, a new position.

Friedler will now spearhead the retailer's ECR initiatives, especially in sales and marketing areas.

He previously served as executive vice president of procurement, marketing and sales for Richfood Holdings, Richmond, Va. He also served 12 years with Certified Grocers of California, Los Angeles, where he developed all sales ECR programs.

Friedler reports to Marc Smith, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
