President Named By Glen's Markets
ets here said that Glen B. Catt has been named president and chief operating officer. He will report to James B. Meyer, president and chief executive officer of Spartan Stores, Grand Rapids, Mich., which is in the process of acquiring Glen's Markets.
Catt, whose appointment is effective with the close of the acquisition, succeeds his father, Glen A. Catt, who retains the title of CEO of Glen's Markets and assumes the title of chairman. Glen A. Catt plans to retire after the acquisition closes, the company said.
AWG Adds Marketing VP Slot
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Associated Wholesale Grocers here said Jerry Garland has been named executive vice president of marketing, a new position.
Garland was senior vice president and Kansas City division manager. He reports to Doug Carolan, president and chief executive officer.
VP Tapped at Piggly Wiggly MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Piggly Wiggly Co. here has named John Matlock vice president of retail operations and development, a new position. Matlock was director of retail support. He reports to Larry Wright, president.
