PRICE CHOPPER, SCHENECTADY, N.Y., said it has promoted Larry Zettle to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Previously, Zettle has held positions in operations, merchandising and general management, and was president of two A&P divisions, Kohl's, Milwaukee, and Farmer Jack, Detroit. Most recently, he was executive vice president. Zettle will report to Neil Golub, president and chief executive officer.

FOOD LION, SALISBURY, N.C., said it has named John Vegas, director of diversity. Reporting to Natalie Taylor, Vegas is responsible for coordinating the company's outreach efforts to the Hispanic community, diversity education and development/advancement for minority employees. Previously, Vegas was district manager, Southeastern operations, and human resources for the Hampton Roads, Va., area for Hannaford Bros. Co., which was acquired this year by Food Lion's corporate parent, Delhaize America.
