d Brothers Importing here has appointed Edmund Reeves as vice president of sales and marketing for its grocery division.

Reeves' background includes experience as vice president and general manager of American Specialty Brands and vice president of sales and marketing for Shaffer, Clarke & Co.

Ziyad Brothers Importing, a division of Syrian Bakery & Grocery Co., is a 45-year-old, privately held company importing and distributing more than 1,200 Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food products to 46 states and six countries. The company also manufactures pita bread and roasts a full line of Mediterranean nuts and seeds.

Larry's Wine Director, Milgino

SEATTLE -- Joe Milgino has been appointed wine director for Larry's Markets here. Prior to joining Larry's, Milgino held the position of director of wine and sommelier for Ray's Boathouse, a waterfront restaurant in Seattle.

He was the 1999 Wilson Daniels Scholarship winner and is currently studying for the master sommelier title under the direction of the International Court of Master Sommeliers.

In his new position at Larry's, Milgino will oversee the company's wine and beer purchasing along with customer and employee wine education.

Webb New Vice Chairman

NEW YORK -- The board of directors of Philip Morris Cos. here have elected William H. Webb to the position of vice chairman.

In this capacity Webb will become a member of the board and will retain his current responsibilities as chief operating officer reporting to Geoffrey C. Bible, chairman and chief executive officer.

Webb will also assist Bible and the board in the transition of management prior to August 2002, when Bible reaches the mandatory retirement age of 65. At that time, Webb and Bible will retire.

The Philip Morris family of companies includes Kraft Foods and the Miller Brewing Co.

Carriage House Appointments

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- In an effort to consolidate operations in its product supply organization, Carriage House Cos. has promoted three key executives.

Mark Miller has been promoted to vice president of purchasing. A 28-year veteran of the organization, Miller has previously served as operations manager and director of procurement in two former plants within the organization. He most recently served as purchasing manager at the company's executive offices here.

Tim Bender has been promoted to vice president of operations, responsible for manufacturing planning, contract manufacturing and engineering for the company's manufacturing facilities. He joined Carriage House in 1999 as corporate manager of operations.

Mark Chamberlain has been named vice president of manufacturing, eastern operations. He has been with the company for 10 years, most recently serving as operations manager of the San Jose plant.

Carriage House produces and sells a variety of high-quality store brand condiments and sauces, including ketchup, pasta sauce, table and flavored syrups, barbecue and Mexican sauces, and honey. Products are sold to various grocery and mass merchandise groceryers under their respective store brands.

Kamibayashi Joins Rapunzel

VALATIE, N.Y. -- Dale Kamibayashi has joined Rapunzel Pure Organics here as vice president and director of sales and marketing.

He brings 26 years of grocery and sales experience to the company; 21 of those years were dedicated to the organic foods industry.

Kamibayashi's previous experience includes working for Wild Oats in 1996 as the director of grocery purchasing, a position he left in 1999 to accept a job as director of specialty markets for Small Planet Foods.

Kettle Valley Adds Doherty

SUMMERLAND, Canada -- Kettle Valley Dried Fruit Co., manufacturer of 100% natural Real Fruit Snacks, has named Robert T. Doherty plant manager.

His duties will include implementing ISO 9001/2000 standards, as well as the supervision and development of new production, packaging and shipping processes to meet the increasing demand from the U.S. and Canadian markets.

He previously was a consultant on ISO standards for Business Development Bank of Canada.
