Brown Takes New Byerly's Post

here has named Renee Brown to the new position of manager of private-label products.

Brown's new duties will be to manage and coordinate Byerly's private label within the company, and also to promote the Byerly's frozen soup and entree line to attract outside sales.

Brown reports to Keith Kersten, vice president of sales and food processing. She has been part of Byerly's central facilities staff since 1987, most recently as an administrative assistant.

Byerly's operates eight supermarkets in the Twin Cities area and one unit in St. Cloud, Minn. This fall it will open a tenth store in Chanhassen, a Minneapolis suburb.

Kraft Appoints Lenny Senior VP

NORTHFIELD, Ill. -- Kraft General Foods here has named Richard H. Lenny senior vice president of sales, customer development and marketing services.

Lenny, who had been executive vice president of sales for Kraft USA, will provide strategic direction for KGF's U.S. sales forces and align KGF sales, marketing and customer service organizations in support of Efficient Consumer Response initiatives. He also will have direct responsibility for channel management, customer development and marketing services.

Lenny will join KGF's operating committee and report directly to Richard P. Mayer, chairman and chief executive officer of KGF North America.

He succeeds J. Mark Harran, who has announced his intention to retire from KGF at the end of 1994. He has been with the company for 29 years. For the remainder of the year, Harran will provide support in several areas, including customer development and ECR.
