Kash n' Karry Names President
ry Food Stores here has named Ronald E. Dennis president, effective immediately.
He succeeds Ronald Johnson, who left Kash n' Karry following Food Lion's acquisition of the 100-store supermarket chain last month. Kash n' Karry is a wholly owned subsidiary of Food Lion.
Prior to joining Kash n' Karry, Dennis worked for the past 20 years with the Albertson's supermarket chain, which is based in Boise, Idaho, and served for the past five years as division vice president responsible for that company's 94 Florida stores.
"Mr. Dennis has an impressive track record of building business in the Florida market over the past 20 years," said Tom Smith, chief executive officer of Food Lion. "His clear leadership and insight regarding Florida consumers will be an asset as Kash n' Karry moves forward with store renovations and plans for future growth."
Kash n' Karry operates 100 supermarkets in west central Florida.
Albertson's Appoints VPs
BOISE, Idaho -- Albertson's here said Robert K. Banks has been named group vice president of real estate, a new position, for the 816-unit chain.
Banks, 47, was vice president of real estate. He reports to Michael Rueling, executive vice president of store development.
Succeeding Banks as vice president of real estate is Greg Goins, 37, formerly regional real estate director at the company's corporate offices here. He reports to Banks.
In other changes: Dan Tobin, 40, has been named vice president of construction, a new post. He was regional construction director in the company's offices here and reports to Rueling.
Walt Czarniecki, 50, has been named vice president of financial reporting. He was director of financial reporting and reports to Rick Navarro, group vice president and controller.
C&S Grocers Taps Audit and Taxes VP
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- C&S Wholesale Grocers here has named Jacqueline Hartwell vice president of audit and taxes.
In her new position, she is responsible for corporate taxes, working with the company's outside auditors and overseeing all corporate accounting functions.
Hartwell joined C&S in 1988 as an auditor, and most recently served as controller.
Randalls Adds VP Position
HOUSTON -- Randalls Food Markets here has named David L. Brumley corporate vice president of human resources.
In the new position, Brumley is responsible for the development and leadership of the human resources department. He reports to Ron Barclay, executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
Brumley joins Randalls from Fleming Cos., Oklahoma City, where he was vice president of human resources for the retail group. Before that, he was senior vice president of human resources for Scrivner, which Fleming acquired in 1994.
Also, Randalls has appointed Robert T. "Bob" Woods director of taxation and Brian E. Bergeron director of financial reporting.
Woods was supervisor of tax planning and supervising tax specialist of Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp. here. Bergeron joined Randalls from Arthur Andersen, where he was a senior auditor.
