Ben & Jerry's Names Director
Jerry's, a superpremium ice cream and frozen yogurt manufacturer based here, has named Bruce Bowman as its senior director of operations, a newly created position.
Bowman, who reports to chief executive officer Bob Holland, is in charge of manufacturing operations. He formerly was senior vice president of operations at Tom's Foods, Columbus, Ga., a $210 million company that makes and distributes candy, peanut and chip snacks nationwide. Before his 10-year stint at Tom's, Bowman worked at Frito-Lay for seven years.
McCain Appoints President, CEO
CHICAGO -- Peter O. Reijula has been appointed president and chief executive officer of McCain Citrus here, succeeding Richard A. Lan, who left the company to pursue other interests.
Reijula, who reports to Harrison McCain, chairman of McCain Foods, the parent company, joined the company last year as vice president and general manager of McCain brands, including BoKu and Junior Juice.
Reijula previously held a similar position with the household/ grocery products division of Alberto-Culver USA. Before that, he was vice president of marketing for Tropicana Products and international marketing manager for General Foods.
Frozen Food Council Elects Board
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- The Southern California Frozen Food Council here has announced its new board of directors for the 1995-96 term.
Jerry Yandell of Billings-Horn, Cerritos, Calif., was elected as president of the council. Cyndi Yarak of Nestle Frozen, Solon, Ohio, was voted vice president; Vic Chiono of Coca-Cola Foods, Houston, was named treasurer, and Sam Griffith of Kelley-Clark, Culver City, Calif., was chosen as secretary.
Newly elected directors were Cliff Potter of Normark and Associates, Los Angeles, and Linda Pelt of Advantage Sales & Marketing, Los Alamitos, Calif. Mark Ahlstrom of Ralphs Grocery Co., Compton, Calif., and Alan Davitian of Arctic Cold Storage, Santa Fe Springs, Calif., were re-elected as directors.
