Seald-Sweet Appoints CEO

Seald-Sweet Growers here has named Bruce McEvoy chief executive officer. He succeeds Jay Holford, who retired Aug. 1 after eight years with the company.

McEvoy was president of Intermountain Canola Co., a subsidiary of DuPont Co., both based in Wilmington, Del. During his six years at DuPont, McEvoy developed food businesses based on the company's biotechnology research.

McEvoy will oversee Florida's largest fresh citrus sales and marketing organization. Seald-Sweet supplies markets throughout North America, Europe, Japan and Taiwan. Among other produce, the company supplies and markets oranges, grapefruit, tangerines and lemons.

Boskovich Realigns Sales Staff

OXNARD, Calif. -- Boskovich Farms here has named Don Hobson and Kevin Richardson sales managers. The positions represent a staff realignment to fill the duties of sales manager John Pavich, who has left the produce industry. Hobson will oversee sales in the grower-shipper's northern division office, and will be based here. Richardson will oversee sales in the southern division, based in Salinas, Calif. They will coordinate sales between the two offices. Richardson has worked in the Salinas office for the past four years, most recently as a salesperson. Hobson was previously sales manager at Muranaka Farms, Moorpark, Calif. Both will report to Joe Boskovich, vice president and chief financial officer.

After nearly 15 years with Boskovich, Pavich recently left the industry to manage a dinner and attraction restaurant in Missouri, owned by country music star Dolly Parton.

Del Monte Names Pujol Sales VP

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Del Monte Fresh Produce Co. here has named Juan Pujol vice president of sales for bananas and pineapples, a new position. He reports to Mike Pereira, vice president of sales and marketing.

Pujol has more than 14 years experience in produce sales and marketing. Previously, he was vice president of sales and marketing for Banacol Marketing Corp., based here.

Del Monte also announced several new positions in its diversified products office in Nogales, Ariz. Dale Nelson, formerly vice president of operations and administration for Frank's Distributing, Nogales, has been named general manager of diversified products for the Nogales operation. Woody Johnson, formerly vice president of marketing at Grimmway Farms in Bakersfield, Calif., has been named vice president of sales, diversified products, based in Nogales. There, he will oversee sales of tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, mangoes, limes and papaya.
