Cub Foods here has named Jill Messerly deli/bakery buyer/merchandiser for the Minnesota region.

In this post, she succeeds Lisa Koxlien, who has been promoted to corporate director of deli.

Messerly most recently was regional manager, Midwest division, for Wheeling, Ill.-based Orval Kent Food Co. In her new position, she reports to Gordy Farrington, vice president, Cub Foods' Minnesota region.

Rice Taps Food Service Director

HOUSTON -- Rice Food Markets here has named Douglas Dick director of food service for Rice Epicurean Markets, a new position.

Previously, he was director of catering for Four Seasons, a Toronto, Canada-based hotel chain. He was with that company 11 years, most recently based in Houston.

In his new post, Dick will report to Gary Friedlander, president of the 31-unit Rice Food Markets. Six of Rice's 31 stores are upscale Rice Epicurean Markets.
