Senior VP Named At Tropicana Dole
Dole Beverages North America here has named Brian C. Cornell senior vice president and national sales manager, a new post.
Cornell was senior vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific for Tropicana Dole Beverages International. Before that he held various positions of increasing responsibility at Seagram Co. Ltd.
He reports to Gary Rodkin, president of Tropicana Dole Beverages North America.
Ralphs Appoints Group VP
COMPTON, Calif. -- Ralphs Grocery Co. here recently named Eddie Smith group vice president of meat and dairy/deli.
Smith is responsible for all meat and dairy/deli marketing and merchandising functions. Smith has been in the supermarket business for more than 36 years, and in 1984 he joined Boys Markets as vice president of meat and deli operations. Most recently, he served as group vice president of perishables for the Food 4 Less Warehouse Store division.
Smith reports to Tom Dahlen, senior vice president of marketing.
Roundy's Adds Meat, Deli Post
PEWAUKEE, Wis. -- Roundy's here has named Dennis Smith corporate director of meat and deli, a new position.
He was corporate director of meat procurement at Supervalu Stores, Minneapolis. That position was eliminated as part of the wholesaler's restructuring. He was with Supervalu for 27 years.
In his new post at Roundy's, Smith reports to Marion Sullivan, Roundy's corporate vice president of marketing.
A food wholesaler with nine Midwest distribution centers that serve more than 1,000 stores, Roundy's also owns and operates eight retail stores under the Pick 'n Save banner.
Farmland Taps Operating Chief
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Farmland Foods here has appointed George Richter chief operating officer, a new post.
Richter, who was vice president of sales and marketing for Farmland, has been with the company since 1971.
Don Kimble succeeds Richter as vice president of sales and marketing. He was president of Farmland's Italian specialty meat operation, Carando Foods, Springfield, Mass.
Other changes, part of a company-wide reorganization, include new titles for Gary Cannavo, now vice president of Farmland retail sales and marketing; Steve Dieso, vice president of special markets for retail accounts; Jim Sbarro, vice president of Carando marketing; Richard Sheperd, vice president of Carando sales, and Ed Brand, vice president of sales and marketing for Ohse and Roegelein, two brands recently acquired by Farmland Foods.
Farmland Foods processes and markets value-added pork products as part of Farmland Industries, a farmer-owned cooperative.
