Genuardi's Appoints Two Vice Presidents
y Markets here has announced the appointment of two new vice presidents.
Gary B. Duncan has been named vice president of human resources. He succeeds Jim McCrudden, who is now vice president of employee, governmental and community relations. Duncan reports to Hank Mullany, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Genuardi's.
Duncan comes to the company from Vons Cos., Arcadia, Calif., which he joined in 1969. While at Vons, he held a number of positions, including director of organizational development and training and director of employment. His most recent post was director of compensation management and training.
Roger K. Wright has been named vice president of real estate and store development. He succeeds Larry Genuardi, who continues to be actively involved with the company as a shareholder and board member. Wright also reports to Mullany.
Wright comes to Genuardi's from Hechinger Co., Landover, Md., where he had worked since 1979, most recently as senior vice president of real estate development. Wright's other posts at that company included director of construction/facilities management and store construction manager. During Wright's tenure, Hechinger's grew from 26 stores to 117 stores.
Genuardi's operates 27 stores in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and the gourmet food store Zagara's, Marlton, N.J.
Richfood Adds Credit Post
MECHANICSVILLE, Va. -- Richfood Holdings here said it has appointed Fredricka H. Dyson vice president of credit administration. In this new position, Dyson is responsible for the creation, implementation and management of Richfood's credit policy. She reports to John C. Belknap, corporate executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Dyson has more than 25 years of experience in the food industry, including 20 years with Richfood.
Her most recent post at Richfood was executive assistant to the chairman and assistant secretary for the corporation. Prior to that, she was manager of credit administration.
Scolari's Names Director of HR
SPARKS, Nev. -- Scolari's Food & Drug here said it has named Ben Davis Jr. director of human resources.
Davis, 47, was employee relations manager for the Reno, Nev., distribution center of Alberto Culver Corp., Melrose Park, Ill. He succeeds Tim McFarling, who has left Scolari's.
At Scolari's, Davis is responsible for overseeing training, risk management, employment, benefits and compensation. He reports to Jim Wygle, vice president of operations.
