EXECUTIVE CHANGES

Wal-Mart.com, Palo Alto, Calif., said last week Jeanne Jackson has been named chief executive officer of the recently formed company. Previously, Jackson was CEO of the Banana Republic Division of Gap. For the last two years, Jackson was also running Gap Inc. Direct, which includes the on-line businesses for Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy. At Wal-Mart, she will report directly to the board of directors.rved

The company also said Della Wall has been promoted to vice president of compensation and deferred benefits. She was previously director of deferred benefits.

Lin's Supermarkets, St. George, Utah, said last week Bryan Simonson has been promoted to president. Previously, Simonson was the company's vice president of operations. Simonson succeeds Rod Orton, who will remain on Lin's board as vice chairman and will also function as a consultant for the company.

Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., said Hector Ley Lopez, general director of Casa Ley, S.A. de C.V., an 86-store chain in western Mexico, will be nominated for election by shareholders to the food retailer's board of directors. Safeway has a 49% ownership interest in Casa Ley.
