River Ranch Names Gillespie
r Ranch Fresh Foods, a source processor of salads and fresh-cut vegetables, has announced the promotion of Mike Gillespie to the position of vice president, sales & marketing, responsible for management of the marketing staff as well as the sales activities for both retail and food-service trade. Most recently, he was vice president of sales at Buyproduce.com. Before that, Gillespie held executive management positions at Grimmway Farms and NewStar.
Schnuck Promotes Produce Official
ST. LOUIS -- Schnuck Markets has promoted Mike O'Brien to vice president of produce, a new position within the company, which operates 92 stores in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. He previously had been director of produce. O'Brien joined the retailer in 1972 as a bagger and was promoted to managerial positions in several departments prior to being named store manager at the Schnucks Dellwood, Mo., store in 1983. He was named director of produce in 2000. In his new position, O'Brien reports to Randy Wedel, senior vice president, marketing and merchandising.
