Peppard Moves To Roche Bros.

Roche Bros. Supermarkets here has named Jarett Peppard food-service director, a newly created position.

For the past year and a half, Peppard had been manager of food service at Kash N' Karry, Tampa, Fla. Prior to that he was food-service specialist at Harris Teeter, Charlotte, N.C.

In his new post, Peppard reports to Paul McGillivray, director of deli sales and marketing for 13-unit Roche Bros.

Ingles Markets Appoints Deli VP

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Ingles Markets here has named Nancy Hughes vice president of deli operations.

She replaces Philip Grasso, who has left the company.

Hughes joined Ingles in 1978 as a deli clerk and moved up to the position of deli and bakery merchandiser. In 1988, she relocated and joined Bi-Lo, Greenville, S.C., where she has been for the past eight years. Her most recent title there was corporate merchandiser and buyer for bakery.

In her new post, Hughes will report to Vaughn C. Fisher, president and chief operating officer of 191-unit Ingles.

Winn-Dixie Names Howard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie Stores here has named Terry Howard deli and bakery merchandiser for its Atlanta division.

He replaces Charlie Van Pelt, who has been appointed retail systems specialist for the division.

Howard joined Winn-Dixie in 1973 as a bag boy in a Roswell, Ga., store. After college, he returned to the company and worked his way up through various management positions. His most recent title was district manager for the Northeast district of the Atlanta division. In his new post, Howard reports to Roy Brocato, division president.

Beaty Gets Hobart Sales Post

TROY, Ohio -- Hobart Corp., a leading supplier of food-related equipment here, has named Brett Beaty to the newly created position of sales development specialist of the warewashing division for food retail.

Beaty joined Hobart four years ago as senior training developer for Hobart sales training.

In his new post, Beaty reports to John McDonough, vice president of marketing for the food-service division and product-line director for warewashing.

Longtime Employee Leaves BKI

MAULDIN, S.C. -- Bill Harnesberger, manufacturing manager for BKI, a food-service equipment manufacturer here, has retired from the company after more than 35 years of service.

With the company since its early days when it was still The Barbecue King Co., Harnesberger is known throughout the industry, a BKI spokeswoman said.

Harnesberger joined the company in 1961 as a machine operator, quickly became a foreman and then held other management positions. He was named manufacturing manager in 1966.
