President Appointed by Alex Lee
ere has named Dennis Hatchell president and chief operating officer, a new position.
Since 1989, Hatchell has been president of Lowes Food Stores, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based retail arm of Alex Lee.
Hatchell joined Alex Lee as executive vice president of Merchants Distributors, its food wholesaling arm, in 1980 and was named president of that unit two years later.
He left the company in 1986 to become group vice president of H.E. Butt Grocery, San Antonio, but returned in 1989.
Hatchell reports to Boyd George, chairman and chief executive officer of Alex Lee.
Twin County Names VP of Finance, CFO
EDISON, N.J. -- Twin County Grocers here has named George P. Farley group vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Farley has been employed by BDO Siedman for some 25 years, most recently as a partner in the New York office. Prior to that, he served as national director of corporate financial services and partner-in-charge of appraisal services. He reports to Martin Vitale, chairman of Twin County.
Farley succeeds Victor Bonini, who has retired after 28 years with Twin County. Bonini joined Twin County in 1967 as a staff accountant. After serving in a number of positions, he assumed his final position in 1987.
Executive VP Post Added by ShopRite
ELIZABETH, N.J. -- ShopRite Supermarkets here has appointed Kevin B. Mannix executive vice president, a new position.
Mannix is responsible for merchandising and store operations. He reports to Ken Capano, president.
He was most recently vice president of meat and in-store bakery for Wakefern Food Corp. here. ShopRite Supermarkets is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Wakefern cooperative.
Merchandising VP Is Named by Bruno's
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Bruno's here has named Michael Heintzman senior vice president of merchandising, a new position. He is responsible for leading new procurement and category management initiatives.
Prior to this appointment, Heintzman worked for Kroger Co., Cincinnati, for 20 years. He most recently served as vice president of merchandising.
Heintzman reports to William Bolton, chairman and chief executive officer of Bruno's.
Pathmark Taps Sales, Ad Director
WOODBRIDGE, N.J. -- Pathmark Stores here has named Chris Williams director of sales and advertising. He succeeds Eileen Scott, who was named vice president of nonfood. Williams was director of grocery sales and merchandising. In his new post, he will report to Ron Rallo, executive vice president of sales and merchandising. Succeeding Williams as director of sales and merchandising for grocery and frozen food is Pat Longo.
